Foxs new 2011 NFL video screenshot 2011 09 01 14.57.13Are you getting excited for football? (all you football haters, just ignore that question, as well as the remainder of this post =p)

A great way to pump up an audience is to briefly present them with a product that is roughly 50 times more awesome than the product they will actually be watching. To this end, Cleatus the Fox Sports Robot has been complemented with some terrifying football-playing robotic pals.

  • Perform This Way

Perform This Way 220px PerformThisWaySmallI have not been a Lady Gaga song fan for a year or two now. Partially it’s because she is stealing borrowing her songs from other artists (Ace of Base, Madonna, etc). Some of it is that her creativity is walking off the cliff into oddity and weirdness. This song, “Born This Way”,  I especially cannot stand. Not because of the meaning behind the lyrics, but rather the repetitiveness of the entire song, taken from.. well.. read my other post. ;)

In April 2011, Yankovic reported that Lady Gaga refused him permission to release “Perform This Way”, which he hoped to use as the lead single for his upcoming album. Yankovic had originally sent the request to parody the song to Gaga’s manager, who responded that they would need to see his lyrics to make an assessment. Yankovic was touring in Australia at the time, and hastily created the lyrics for approval. Yankovic further stated that Gaga’s management further insisted on reviewing a recorded version of the song, and he had cut a family vacation short to turn the recorded version around. Ultimately, he was told that she refused to allow for the parody. Yankovic had considered the song key to his Alpocalypse album, but due to the rejection, he had begun the process to postpone its release until he could record a new song to take the place of “Perform This Way”.

  • Assassin’s Creed – 2.9? Revelations trailer!

Assassins Creed 2.9? Revelations trailer! Assassins Creed Revelations 2While I am becoming grudgingly tired of Ezio as a character (I much preferred Altair in Assassins Creed 1), I did thoroughly enjoy the game inprovements made between AC 1 & 2. The last title, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, is nothing more than a mere extension of AC 2, with multiplayer added in. I am hoping the 4th title, Revelations, is nothing similar besides the character’s name. He is obviously older than he was, so I am very much hoping this latest release to be the last time he is utilized.

Here’s an excerpt from the UBI.com webpage:

When a man’s battles have been won and his enemies destroyed what then? Where does he find purpose and meaning? To find answers to these questions, Ezio Auditore will travel east in search of the lost library of the Assassins.

In Assassin’s Creed® Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of the legendary mentor Altair, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region.

In addition to Ezio’s award-winning story, a refined and expanded online multiplayer experience returns with more modes, more maps and more characters, allowing you to test your assassin skills against others from around the world.

  • Happy Flashback Friday

Happy Flashback Friday screenshot 2011 03 04 08.28.21So some friends on Facebook have been doing FBF (Flashback Friday) videos for the past few weeks, and I started joining in several weeks ago. As such, I’m deciding also to post the youtube videos on my page. ;)

My rules: early 90s, 80s, or older. YouTube videos must either be MTV music videos, live performances, or something else of the artist. No still frame photos with music in the background.

Click below for my first blog of this genre, Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison” made super popular around 1990. Go BBD!

  • Humpilates is here!

Humpilates is here! screenshot 2011 02 28 09.51.10Watch this Jimmy Kimmel “Hottie Body Hump Club” exercise ball video, with a ton of guest appearances. I couldn’t stop laughing. The best workout video since the Shake Weight commercials!

Working out their Hump routine are Scarlett Johansson, Minka Kelly, Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, Emily Blunt, Sofia Vergara, and Lindsay Lohan. My favorite part is the very end, where it’s Jimmy and LiLo, with the following line:

    Jimmy: “…so affordable it’s practically a steal”

    Lindsay: “Allegedly.”

  • Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”, a step down from her previous music videos

Lady Gagas Born This Way, a step down from her previous music videos Lady GaGa Born This Way FanMade 400x400My first impression of Lady Gaga’s new video for “Born This Way” was that I had just lost seven and a half minutes of my life that I’ll never have back, on a Madonna remake song. Miss Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta has certainly made better videos in her past, and after two weeks of hearing this song, I’m sooo sick of it. Only one other Gaga song has made me sick after hearing it so often, which was “Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)” as it just became nothing but redundant.

View the video, it’s odd and she takes a lot of creativity over the past few decades from other writers, such as Return to Oz with the head-thing. ;)

  • Eagles toy with the Giants for 53 minutes before wiping them out

Eagles toy with the Giants for 53 minutes before wiping them out desean jacksonYou’ve seen the highlights. You know what happened – 28 unanswered points in the 4th quarter, with under seven-and-a-half minutes remaining in the game. The New York Giants became the first team to blow a 21-point lead in the fourth quarter and lose since, well, since they gave it up to the Tennessee Titans in 2006.

After an amazingly well kicked on-side kickoff and a nice game-ending punt return by DeSean Jackson, the Eagles take the Giants, again, and effectively take the NFC-North divison.

View the videos (2 more after the break). DeSean’s return that should have been kicked out of bounds by punter Matt Dodge, the press conference, and one of the best text-to-speech videos since the iPhone 4. Yes, the one I posted back in June.

Brian Wilson with Jay Leno brianwilson2teaserHere’s the interview of San Francisco Giants pitcher Brian Wilson with Jay Leno. My two favorite quotes from this are:

“That’s the sound of San Francisco.. NAILING IT!”

“Well the story was, there was too much awesome.” (regarding the orange shoes)

    Buster Posey in the parade

Thanks Katrina for the video share!

Attendees to the Giants parade included the mayor, Gavin Newsom, one of the senators, Diane Feinstein, and the icon of Giants baseball, Willie Mays. Eventually, Brian Wilson (the beard), Barry Zito, Pablo Sandoval (the panda), Madison Bumgardner, Buster Posey were all on display. They each got their own end of trolley-style bus in which to bask in the glow of being the first Giants to win the World Series in 56 years.
