Randy Moss working out as a 49er?

Am I the only San Francisco 49er fan that doesn’t want to see Randy Moss dress up in the red & gold?

I do not feel as if an aged veteran, arguably the 2nd best wide receiver in the history of football, has a place on the 49ers. Sure, SF lost to the (eventual Super Bowl winning) New York Giants with only 1 pass for 3 yards to a receiver. It’s common knowledge that Jed York, Jim Harbaugh, Trent Balke, and company will be looking for a few wideouts before the season starts. But folks, let’s go young. Let’s train rookies or go with some younger free agents.  Continue reading “Randy Moss working out as a 49er?” Randy Moss working out as…

Top NFL Players week 13

Most fantasy football leagues are over for their regular season, and it’s off to the playoffs. Some have a week to go, depending on how your league manager configured things. Either way, it’s been fun to review the top 5 this year, and I’ll continue to do so while the NFL season is still going on.

8 months ago, would we have seen the #1 overall pick go completely crazy like he has all year long? If it wasn’t starting off the first 2 weeks throwing for 900 yards, then it was running in touchdowns to make Michael Vick look more like Tim Tebow. Cam has done it, despite what we all thought before. He’s shown up in 9 out of the past 12 top-10 blog posts. Woah.

I’m proud that my San Francisco 49ers clinched the first division title of 2011, and just hours later my Green Bay Packers followed Suit, when my New Orleans Saints defeated the Detroit Lions who were close enough to keep the Packers from locking it up. At this point, it seems as if the Packers and 49ers will have first round byes in the playoffs, but the road to the Super Bowl still goes through Green Bay. In January. Yeoch!

On to the guys who have done it all year long…  Continue reading “Top NFL Players week 13” Top NFL Players week 13

Top NFL players week 5

We’re about a third of the way through the season already – wow! There’s plenty of surprising teams out there, not least of which are my San Francisco 49ers who are two games up in the NFC West. Their next big test will be against the Detroit Lions next week who are making big waves themselves at 5-0, tied with the Super Bowl winning Green Bay Packers in the NFL, as well as being in the same division.

This week’s view of top players has a few of your weekly guys that you can count on to gather you tons of fantasy points week after week, as well as some new additions to the list. Cam Newton continues to shine, but I still haven’t started him in any week, due to the fact I typically have Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers as well on my roster, who are solid & proven starters. The Minnesota Vikings toppled the Arizona Cardinals, so Adrian Peterson certainly played hard, and the unlikely Kansas City Chiefs beat out the hapless Indianapolis Colts, who may never be with Peyton Manning again.
