I have not been a Lady Gaga song fan for a year or two now. Partially it’s because she is stealing borrowing her songs from other artists (Ace of Base, Madonna, etc). Some of it is that her creativity is walking off the cliff into oddity and weirdness. This song, “Born This Way”,  I especially cannot stand. Not because of the meaning behind the lyrics, but rather the repetitiveness of the entire song, taken from.. well.. read my other post. ;)

In April 2011, Yankovic reported that Lady Gaga refused him permission to release “Perform This Way”, which he hoped to use as the lead single for his upcoming album. Yankovic had originally sent the request to parody the song to Gaga’s manager, who responded that they would need to see his lyrics to make an assessment. Yankovic was touring in Australia at the time, and hastily created the lyrics for approval. Yankovic further stated that Gaga’s management further insisted on reviewing a recorded version of the song, and he had cut a family vacation short to turn the recorded version around. Ultimately, he was told that she refused to allow for the parody. Yankovic had considered the song key to his Alpocalypse album, but due to the rejection, he had begun the process to postpone its release until he could record a new song to take the place of “Perform This Way”.

My first impression of Lady Gaga’s new video for “Born This Way” was that I had just lost seven and a half minutes of my life that I’ll never have back, on a Madonna remake song. Miss Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta has certainly made better videos in her past, and after two weeks of hearing this song, I’m sooo sick of it. Only one other Gaga song has made me sick after hearing it so often, which was “Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)” as it just became nothing but redundant.

View the video, it’s odd and she takes a lot of creativity over the past few decades from other writers, such as Return to Oz with the head-thing. ;)

Hate me all you want. I was despised when I declared Lady Gaga’s “Alejandro” a rip-off from Ace of Base’s “Don’t Turn Around”, even when those who cursed me admitted that I was right.

Lady Gaga’s new single “Born This Way” came out today, and I kept thinking while listening on the radio… this is so… I don’t know.. 80′s. And I’m right. Lady Gaga has already taken to following Madonna’s routes with her eclectic methods and routines, but now she has gone and just stolen an entire song from her.

Take a look at the similarities between “Born This Way” and Madonna’s “Express Yourself”. Tell me that I’m not right. Tell me that you still love Lady Gaga even though she has now stolen another song. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Gaga, but miss Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta needs to get back to her innovative side again.

Lady Gaga once again opened up about her new album, Born This Way, and is calling it her “most innovative” yet!

She explains:

“The album is a marriage of electronic music with major, epic, dare I even say, metal or rock ‘n’ roll, pop, anthemic style melodies with really sledge-hammering dance beats. It’s finished and all, it’s just fine-tuning everything. It’s kind of like the post-operative stage of the album. I’ve already done the full heart surgery. I’m just sewing myself back up again. I think that lyrically this album is more poetic. It’s really written by the fans, they really wrote it for me because every night they’re funneling so much into me. So I wrote it for them. Born This Way is all about my little monsters and me, mother monster.”

So, who’s excited? =)

Following up on my previous post, I have the video of Lady Gaga stage diving at Lollapalooza, as well as out “outfit” that she wore again. I am actually surprised she made it out alive / unraped.

The lead singer of Semi Precious Weapons, Justin Tranter, states:

“She stood on the side of the stage, and then during the song ‘Magnetic Baby’ she started playing drums with Dan Crean. She used to get on stage with us all the time, but since she’s so famous, normally it’s not safe for her. But she played the same stage we played three years ago, and I think she was so excited about us playing that stage. Then she started singing back-up vocals, then she and I made out. Then she stage-dived and I joined her while she stage-dove. And then we made out while stage diving. And then she left.”

I still need to go to this Chicago concert some time. Maybe drag Stu with me.

Quite the “costume”, there, Gaga! Although, I’d find it rather dangerous to stage dive at your level of fame wearing, basically, nothing.

Lady Gaga’s first Lollapalooza performance was on a small side stage in 2007, where she received more than a few bewildered stares and was unapologetically called a “trainwreck.” So when she headlined the first night of this year’s Lollapalooza, wearing the same silver-jeweled bra she wore at that first performance, she wasn’t going to let anyone forget where she started.

The September issue of Vanity Fair magazine will sure be an interesting one as in an interview with the mag, outrageous dressing Lady Gaga comes clean about still doing cocaine. The 24-year-old singer whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, reveals in the interview that she’s “terrified of heroin” but still does “mostly cocaine.”

“I won’t lie, it’s occasional,” she said issue. “And when I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year. I do not want my fans to ever emulate that or be that way. I don’t want my fans to think they have to be that way to be great. It’s in the past. It was a low point, and it led to disaster.”

Lady GaGa has become the first artist in download history to have three songs (Poker Face, Just Dance, and now Bad Romance) hit the four million mark!

Truly remarkable. OK Go, step up the game! I love you guys though.

Bid low and win big! Lady Gaga is auctioning off the silver triangular trio necklace designed by Brian Lichtenberg that she wore in the “Poker Face” video to the lowest bidder on Winnit.com, a reverse auction website co-founded by Nick Lachey.

The auction begins June 15 and ends June 24. All proceeds will go to Gaga’s charity of choice, The Lupus Foundation. To participate, users must pay one dollar each time a bid for the lowest, unique amount is placed. At the close of the auction, the user who holds the bid closest to zero – and is the only person to hold that exact bid – will be deemed the winner. Bid on the necklace here.

The singer, 24, also auctioned off her white Mulberry handbag (along with Mariah Carey’s Louis Vuitton clutch) at the S.L.E. Lupus Foundation’s “New York Bag Ladies Luncheon & Celebrity Handbag Auction” earlier this month in New York City.
