• What is this world coming to?

What is this world coming to? DestinyChickenSo here I am, sitting in my silly Statistics class, a mathematics course that is substantially lower than any other I have taken in the past fifteen to twenty years. A friend of mine states that this will become more difficult in the end, as I roll my eyes and hope that it does.

I waste two nights a week here, Mondays and Wednesdays, for an hour and a half a night. The term “waste” comes into play due to the fact that there are no classes which start at 7pm or later, so as opposed to taking a 3-hour class like the two I had last semester or the other two I have this semester, I utilize two nights for a class in which I will not learn anything for at least the first two months. Thank you, Business Administration pre-requisite!

We have tonight finally moved onto learning about the Mode Average of a set of numbers, which I learned about in 7th grade – when I was 12/13 years old. Modes are my favorite because they can be completely and wildly inaccurate as a measurement of an average set of numbers. If you’re still clueless, think “the number which most frequently appears” — congratulations, you have now learned the most difficult thing of the first two weeks of statistics.

I filed my taxes yesterday – after difficulties with H&R Block’s software that I’ve used for the third straight year, I should be receiving over $4200 back; whenever California and Obama get around to dropping that into my checking account. Thank goodness for claiming mortgage interest and property taxes.

My Packers won the Super Bowl this past weekend, which you knew already. And by “my”, I mean “the team I’ve been repping all year long, especially once we realized the 49ers were a wash”. My favorite football teams, in order, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints. And if you must know two additional facts.. 1) I repped the Saints the entire season last year, and 2) I am now 4-0 in my last 4 Super Bowl picks (Giants/Steelers/Saints/Packers).

I’ve been playing the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood game I purchased post-Christmas pretty heavily for the past two weeks. It’s essentially Assassin’s Creed II (and a half), with multi-player that I have yet to get into. I even “forgot” to go to sleep twice last week, coincidentally Monday and Wednesday night, after this slow-paced statistics class.

I could give you some of the retarded things that go on in this classroom. Such as the guy divided 33/53 and came up with 25%, using a calculator. Or the the teacher explaining how to find the middle number of a short 5-number list, for ten minutes, and the guy next to me asking “Can you explain that again? I got lost.” I swear to god, I was going to stab somebody with my mechanical pencil. I do not see how many of these students passed high school mathematics, let alone achieved the pre-requisite of Introduction to Algebra for this class registration.

That’s it for now. Time to doodle and diddle some classic stick-figure artwork in my math notes. Ciao~

  • First Young, and now Fisher gone in Tennessee

First Young, and now Fisher gone in Tennessee Just as I predicted over three weeks ago, Jeff Fisher is no longer the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, although I figured it was due to the desire to keep Vince Young as their quarterback. However once they let #10 off the team, I was surprised to learn that they also parted ways with Jeff.

Fisher, who took over as head coach of the then Houston Oilers in 1994, remained with the team when it relocated to Nashville posting a regular season record of 142-120 over 17 seasons. Fisher led the Titans to the post-season six times, four division titles and one Super Bowl appearance losing to the St. Louis Rams in 2000.

The Titans’ front office had become frustrated with Fisher’s pace hiring replacemements. ESPN reported that Fisher had tried to hire his son, Brandon, as a quality control coach, and that that had been the deciding factor in the decision for Fisher to leave.

“I want to thank (owner) Mr. (Bud) Adams and the organization for a special 17 years,” Fisher said in a statement. “I can’t thank the fans enough for the support they showed us through the years; it has been a tremendous experience.  We all did our very best and I think I can look back with fond memories and be very proud of what we accomplished. I want to wish the organization, the current players and the fans nothing but the best in the future.”

  • Dinner in San Jose served by 49ers? Sign me up!

Dinner in San Jose served by 49ers? Sign me up!

A phone call between 49ers quarterback Alex Smith and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has led to a pretty fun opportunity for fans with a hearty appetite. Working with the 49ers Foundation, Smith and teammate Patrick Willis have organized a charity dinner Nov. 15 at Morton’s in downtown San Jose, where they, a few teammates and 49ers alums Keena Turner and Guy McIntyre will trade their uniforms and helmets for aprons and plates.

Fitzgerald participated in a similar dinner at a Morton’s in Phoenix, and he mentioned to Smith that it would be a great way to raise awareness for the Alex Smith Foundation. The dinner costs $250 per guest and includes a reception, live auction and a four-course meal served by the 49ers.

Now if only I could find a date who enjoys a nice meal served by 49er players, I’d be set!

Proceeds benefit the Alex Smith Foundation and the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation. For more information, contact Frances Carter at 408-947-7000 or frances_carter@mortons.com.

  • With the first overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft, the 49ers select…

With the first overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft, the 49ers select... You can see it as clearly as I can, right? The San Francisco 49ers aren’t just last place in the division (NFC West); they are last place in the conference. They’re second-to-last in the entire NFL, beating only the winless Buffalo Bills (AFC East).

They suffered yet another embarrassing 4th quarter loss by a field goal, and now head to London to play a battered and bruised Denver Broncos. After that, they get a bye week. I’m sad to state this, but if the 49ers lose to the Broncos, there will be a changing of the guard in the Head Coach department during that bye week, despite 49ers owner Jed York stating that Mike’s job is safe, and despite Singletary having the vote of confidence from his players.

The loss yesterday was more than a devastating blow to already dismal playoff hopes. It was a sure sign that they are not nearly the team the Faithful hoped would come out for the 2010 season. Rather, they are who we feared they’d be.

And for all of you chanting “We Want Carr, We Want Carr” — well, you got him. And you know what you received in that 3-week span of wanting Alex Smith removed? Carr replaced Smith on the third play of the second half after Smith’s non-throwing shoulder was sprained while he was sacked by Charles Johnson. Carr attempted five passes in his first 27 minutes of play with one 6-yard completion. From midway through the third quarter until late in the fourth, he went more than 18 minutes with just one pass attempt (and one sack) as the 49ers ran on 10 of 12 plays. Carr didn’t air out the ball until the Panthers tied the game 20-20 inside the two-minute warning, only to throw an interception that set up Carolina’s game-winning field goal.

So there you have it. Where’s Troy Smith when you need him?

  • Frankly, we should just Gore the Raiders

Frankly, we should just Gore the Raiders oakland raiders sanDon’t completely hate Alex Smith. If there is one productivity workhorse that is not following through, look at the guy who has only one 100+ yard rushing game out of the first five weeks of the season. The 49ers NEED to get Frank Gore more involved in the offense, or to spit out better yard-per-carry averages.

Here is a pair of Frank Gore touchdown runs — the first he takes a handoff and bursts through the line for a 42-yard touchdown. In the second video, he takes the direct snap (wildcat) and takes it home for a 49 yarder. Maybe the Raiders weren’t ready?

Enjoy these two 10 o’clock Touchdowns!

  • Battle of the Bay 2010!

Battle of the Bay 2010! akfiucThe Oakland Raiders head to Candlestick this weekend to take on the San Francisco 49ers. Here are two recent videos I did of pick-6 plays against quarterback Bruce Gradkowski — Shawntae Spencer and Parys Haralson both grab pretty easy interceptions and run them back for a score. Enjoy these two 10 o’clock Touchdowns!

  • It’s On with DeSean

Its On with DeSean This is the first time I bring you a 3-part 10 o’clock Touchdown Madden 11 replay. One game, one player, three different return touchdowns.

I decided to upgrade my return-man from Ted Ginn to DeSean Jackson, who on any given Sunday is the fastest guy out on the field, and likely the entire stadium. He has the best track speed (versus Chris Johnson who has the fastest football speed), and these 3 returns certainly prove it.

I give to you a 98-yard kickoff return, a well as 82-yard and 76-yard punt returns. In the same game. Can you imagine the fantasy points?

  • The Inconvenient Truth, Frank Gore

The Inconvenient Truth, Frank Gore frank goreI haven’t seen a big Frank Gore run in awhile, so I decided to post one as tonight’s 10 o’clock Touchdown.

See a flashback as I take on the Saints during MNF in week 2 of my 49ers Franchise. Frank bursts through the line for a huge 65-yard touchdown, Gore scores!

  • Ted Ginn turns on the burn

Ted Ginn turns on the burn 082310 Ginn subTed Ginn has speed on kick and punt returns that can almost rival that of Eagles star receiver DeSean Jackson.

This 10 o’clock Touchdown of 92 yards styles the same pink paraphernalia as yesterday’s video, as they were both the same game I played earlier in the week.

Can the 49ers claim their first win of the 2010 season? We shall find out!
