Nnamdi Asomugha, now flying high

And out of nowhere, the Eagles swoop in and steal Nnamdi Asomugha from the other 31 NFL teams who wish they could add his talents to their roster. At the last moment the Cowboys and Jets backed out of their desire to grab the elite defensive back. I have no idea why.

As I just blogged about, the Eagles traded Kolb for Rodgers-Cromartie, which makes a deadly pass defense next to Samuel. Philadelphia will throw out $60 million over five years, with $25 million guaranteed to Asomugha.  Some fun stats? Nnamdi only sees 2.2 targets a game and only allows 1.2 completions per game. That is shutdown play at its finest.

Six more big NFL trades & acquisitions to discuss

So while I am waiting rather impatiently for Nnamdi Asomugha to announce his decision to create a powerhouse with Darrelle Revis, I have five, in my opinion, rather large player moves in the NFL. Vince Young to the Eagles (to backup Michael Vick), Chad Ochocinco to the Patriots, Darren Sproles to the Saints, Kevin Kolb to the Cardinals, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to the Eagles, Sidney Rice to the Seahawks.
