NFL Players of Week 2

We’re a second week in and the next coming of Cam Newton has come in the form of RG3. Swapping places with Matt Ryan from #2 to #1 overall QB (both of which I have in my money league) we’re wondering if he can be stopped. While the Redskins ended up losing to the lowly Rams, this rookie is out to break records that Newton set last year.

A half-dozen teams are 2-0 (including the 49ers and Cardinals sharing the same division) with the Raiders (not surprising) and the (gasp!) Saints being winless at 0-2.

All year long football fans have witnessed his explosiveness. He won the Super Bowl last season, and sent a message to the other 31 teams in the NFL, “Just you try to stop me”. I wonder how Brett Favre is feeling right now?

8 months ago, would we have seen the #1 overall pick go completely crazy like he has all year long? If it wasn’t starting off the first 2 weeks throwing for 900 yards, then it was running in touchdowns to make Michael Vick look more like Tim Tebow. Cam has done it, despite what we all thought before. He’s shown up in 9 out of the past 12 top-10 blog posts. Woah.

I’m proud that my San Francisco 49ers clinched the first division title of 2011, and just hours later my Green Bay Packers followed Suit, when my New Orleans Saints defeated the Detroit Lions who were close enough to keep the Packers from locking it up. At this point, it seems as if the Packers and 49ers will have first round byes in the playoffs, but the road to the Super Bowl still goes through Green Bay. In January. Yeoch!

On to the guys who have done it all year long…  Continue reading “Top NFL Players week 13” Top NFL Players week 13
