Thanks Katrina for the video share!

Attendees to the Giants parade included the mayor, Gavin Newsom, one of the senators, Diane Feinstein, and the icon of Giants baseball, Willie Mays. Eventually, Brian Wilson (the beard), Barry Zito, Pablo Sandoval (the panda), Madison Bumgardner, Buster Posey were all on display. They each got their own end of trolley-style bus in which to bask in the glow of being the first Giants to win the World Series in 56 years.

Seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday for allegedly lying to Congress about using steroids and growth hormone. The criminal case writes a new chapter in one of Major League Baseball’s worst scandals, the rampant use of performance enhancing drugs.

The indictment says that he lied and committed perjury regarding the same matters.

  • Barry still clinging on to his story

Barry still clinging on to his story sp ostler12 bond 0501472516 part6Wow. I had forgotten about Barry Bonds. I mean, it’s been what, forever, since we’ve had news of the perjury / steriods incidents?

Apparently his trial date is set for March 21, 2011. They also hashed out a schedule to file legal documents and to hold pretrial hearings to shape what the jury will see and hear during the three-week trial.

Bonds’ initial February 2009 trial date was delayed at the last minute when prosecutors appealed the judge’s ruling excluding vital evidence. The prosecutors ultimately lost that appeal and have decided to go ahead with the trial anyway. The former San Francisco Giant has pleaded not guilty to charges he lied to a grand jury in December 2003 when he denied knowingly taking performance-enhancing drugs.
