The art of trading the 49ers for the Warriors

The Golden State Warriors met last week with San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and Giants CEO Larry Baer to discuss the feasibility of building a new, state-of-the-art arena near AT&T Park that would open before the 2017-18 season. The rumor that the Golden State Warriors might move to San Francisco is recycled every few years. But this time, it has a chance to happen. Potential buyers of the team have asked the San Francisco Giants about building in Mission Bay, south of AT&T Park.

Would Oakland be willing to lose their basketball team? It seems as though the Oakland A’s and the Oakland Raiders are trying to move where the grass is greener. The A’s want a share of San Jose, and the Raiders want to be wherever the 49ers are.

What is San Francisco going to do, when they realize they just traded the 49ers for the Warriors? And while you’re at it, go ahead and Occupy Oakland. There’s about to be plenty of open room.
