I am sooo stoked to see Michael Vick start his first game in about 4 years — and after the slaughter that the Packers gave Kolb, and turned it around to almost bringing the week 1 game to a tie, he has certainly earned the right to play this weekend. But will he? That’s all up to the coach. The same coach that benched then got rid of Donovan McNabb, and got rid of Brian Westbrook. We’ll see.

Plus, the Eagles are playing the Lions? Seriously? I think even UCLA could beat Detroit this weekend.

Reggie Bush will forfeit the Heisman Trophy he won in 2005. The former Southern California running back announced his decision in a statement. I don’t feel as if he should, since the accomplishments he did in college were not influenced by benefits he received from USC.. but whatever. He says:

“One of the greatest honors of my life was winning the Heisman Trophy in 2005,” the statement said “For me, it was a dream come true. And I know that any young man fortunate enough to win the Heisman enters into a family of sorts. Each individual carries the legacy of the award and each one is entrusted with its good name. It is for these reasons that I have made the difficult decision to forfeit my title as Heisman winner of 2005.”

The Heisman Trophy Trust was scheduled to meet Tuesday amid speculation that a decision on whether Bush would be stripped of the award. USC had previously given back its copy of the Heisman Trophy after Bush was found by the NCAA to have received illegal benefits during 2004 and 2005.

In a douche-bag move earlier this week, Vince Young, who finished second to Bush in the voting in 2005, said he would welcome the award if Bush was stripped of the award.

And this is why we picked him up from the Miami Dolphins. Hopefully he gets to do a few of these 88-yard punt returns this year.

Here’s a little video of one of my first Madden 11 franchise games for the 2010 season, 49ers versus the Bucs. Huge pass from Alex Smith to Vernon Davis, endzone to endzone. It wasn’t the pass, but the yards after the catch that were crucial.

Kinda neat how I can save highlights, upload them to EA, and then embed them elsewhere. ;)
