Comic Ricky Gervais has dismissed reports he is planning to replace Steve Carell on the US version of The Office. The 49-year-old comedian created the British version of The Office and played the lead role of David Brent. Steve Carell recently quit his role as the central character in the US version of the show and reports claimed bosses were lining up Gervais to take over. However he sent an email to New York magazine and dismissed the rumour.

He said: ‘As David Brent would say: ‘Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt…’ As I would say: ‘Why would I get up at 6am five days a week for seven years when I can hire someone else to do that and still get my syndication money?”

Eminems video of Love the Way You Lie screenshot 2010 08 05 19.0404After a few flop-albums, Eminem’s “Recovery’ album comes back strong, making the #1 selling album for the past month.

One of my favorite tracks, “Love the Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna has it’s video right here — good acting by Megan Fox (better than Transformers, I should say!) and her music video’s boyfriend.

Rihanna, however.. what are you wearing? Seriously? Why would you do that? Your wardrobe team should be fired. Or shot.

  • Prop 8 ruled as Unconstitutional

    Prop 8 ruled as Unconstitutional

Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker has ruled Proposition 8 is unconstitutional “under both the due-process and equal-protection” clauses. His verdict comes in response to a lawsuit brought by two same-sex couples and the city of San Francisco seeking to invalidate the law as an unlawful infringement on the civil rights of gay men and lesbians.

Proposition 8, which outlawed gay marriages in California five months after the state Supreme Court legalized them, passed with 52 percent of the vote in November 2008 following the most expensive campaign on a social issue in U.S. history. Attorneys on both sides have said an appeal was certain if Walker did not rule in their favor. The case would go first to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals then the Supreme Court if the high court justices agree to review it.

  • Judge’s ruling on Prop 8 tomorrow

Judges ruling on Prop 8 tomorrow yesnoprop8 450x319

A San Francisco federal judge tomorrow will issue a much anticipated ruling in the Proposition 8 trial, a decision that will be a first step in a long legal process to decide whether California’s voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage violates the federal constitution.

Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker will release the ruling without holding a hearing, typical in deciding most cases. Bay Area federal court officials announced the scheduled release of the much-anticipated decision in a brief order today.

Walker in January conducted an unprecedented trial in January in the challenge to Proposition 8, which restored the state’s ban on the right of gay and lesbian couples to marry. He heard closing arguments in June, and now will decide the outcome of a lawsuit that maintains the same-sex marriage ban violates the equal protection rights of gay and lesbian couples.

Either way the judge decides, the losing side is expected to appeal the ruling to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Most legal experts expect the case to ultimately be decided in the U.S. Supreme Court.

Favre calls it quits. Again. favre get 100124 306Following up on my previous story, it looks more and more like Favre is announcing his retirement.

    Again.

I actually believe Brett Favre will announce his decision, a la “The Favre Decision”, during a 2-hour prime time special that will make LeBron James jealous. And just as Brett is about to make his decision to the public, at the 1-hour-30-minute mark, Kanye West hops in to remind us that Joe Montana was the greatest quarterback of all time. OF ALL TIME!

  • Will he stay or will he go?

Will he stay or will he go? favrexYes, here we are again. It’s that time of year, where we sit and make fun of ourselves being on “on the edge of our seats” regarding Brett Favre’s decision to play in the NFL again or not.

Personally, I hope he calls it quits. In my 6 Fantasy Football leagues, I didn’t pick up a single Vikings Wide Receiver, or Brett himself, due to not knowing who will be tossing the rock this season.

Let’s turn back to last year, when Favre was last suited up. The New Orleans Saints had just administered a physical and psychological beating to the NFL’s all-time passing leader who refused to submit. The Vikings’ crushing 31-28 overtime defeat in the NFC championship game, where Favre whipped an interception in the closing seconds of regulation, left him with a swollen ankle and a severe thigh bruise the color of eggplant. ”People can talk about the ankle and my thigh and all that stuff, but those will mend. I just said, ‘I can’t take this. It’s just too hard to digest.’ “ The NFL fined Saints defensive end Bobby McCray for improperly hitting Favre in third quarter. He was sandwiched high and low, injuring his left ankle when blindsided below the knees.

The September issue of Vanity Fair magazine will sure be an interesting one as in an interview with the mag, outrageous dressing Lady Gaga comes clean about still doing cocaine. The 24-year-old singer whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, reveals in the interview that she’s “terrified of heroin” but still does “mostly cocaine.”

“I won’t lie, it’s occasional,” she said issue. “And when I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year. I do not want my fans to ever emulate that or be that way. I don’t want my fans to think they have to be that way to be great. It’s in the past. It was a low point, and it led to disaster.”

  • Ochocinco draws more hate

Ochocinco draws more hate nfl a starks b1 288Hate to love him, or love to hate him? Personally, I think Chad Ochocinco of the Cincinnati Bengals is hilarious. Unlike his new teammate Terrell Owens, “85″ brings forth comedy both on and off the field.

Pittsburgh Steelers left tackle Max Starks wasn’t amused by Chad Ochocinco’s recent trash talking. According to an interview Friday with Ken Laird of Pittsburgh’s ESPN radio 1250, one statement in particular really bothered Starks, one of the team’s locker-room leaders. Ochocinco recently said on his VH1 reality dating show, “Man, I haven’t seen this many girls on a football field since the last time we played the Steelers.”
