The Ford SYNC feature enables you to do many technology-driven tasks in your car. Turn-by-turn navigation, hands-free calling, vehicle health report, 911/emergency assist, etc. Ford is now upgrading the SYNC in 2011 models and adding a few consumer-friendly additions.
SYNC will now function with Android and Blackberry phones, whereas this was previously iPhone/iPod only.
The new AppLink feature allows more applications and user-control to the software. Programs like Pandora will now have the ability to run, giving the user a more open experience to things they can do while driving.
The new AppLink system with the SYNC will allow phones to meld into the vehicle more smoothly. I definitely want to check out the new upgrades, and see when it will be available across all Ford models!
